Flor de Caña kicks-off global eco-friendly initiative by planting 10,000 trees in celebration of World Tree Day

As part of its annual forestation campaign, and in celebration of World Tree Day (June 28th), 500 Flor de Caña employees planted 10,000 trees at the San Cristobal Volcano Natural Reserve in Nicaragua.

The activity also marked the beginning of a Flor de Caña global initiative that will be focused on promoting forestation efforts and taking care of the environment.

Flor de Caña is distilled with 100% renewable energy and each year, for the past 12 years, the brand has planted 50,000 trees in Nicaragua, an area equivalent to twice the size of New York City’s Central Park.

The San Cristobal volcano, the most active in Nicaragua, has become iconic to the brand because it is the birthplace of Flor de Caña and where it’s rums have been born and aged for more than 125 years.
